So Thankful for Baby Powers

This has probably been the best Thanksgiving of our lives. The day before we got to see and hear the heartbeat of Baby Powers. It truly was very special moment for us. Its so amazing to see a new life growing inside of your womb. Baby Powers mommy and daddy love you already.

The most fun part about telling people that you are expecting is seeing their reactions. We have some very special family member.  So we knew that the responses would be all different. But overall they were all positive.

Adam's mom responded by saying you guys are not ready yet and I not even 55 yet and I am going to be a grandma. She feel into the front door. We thought she was going to walk out of the house. I think for her this is probably a tough pill to swallow because Adam is truly her baby. But she just has to remember that her and Adam's father did a awesome job raising him. He is now someones husband and soon to be a father. He is a baby no more.... Sorry Mama Powers... :)

My Mom....... This has to be a very crazy time for her. My sister is 6 months pregnant as well. So we knew this may be too much for her to bear. So we went out to dinner with her and my sister. While she was in the bathroom we put a personalized card at her spot. Adam and I watched her out of the corner of our eyes as we was ordering our drinks. She looked at the card twice before she processed what was going on. She is overly excited that she is going to be a grandmother twice in the coming months.Poor her because she has a tough journey ahead of her. But the good thing is the the two cousins will grow up together four months apart. 

Everyone else is so excited that they are going to be aunts and uncles and etc.

Today is the big day. Three hours at work and off to see Baby Powers. I am so excited. Xoxo <3

Two More Days Until Our First Sonogram.......

I am so excited we have two more days until our first sonogram. I will be just one day shy of being 8 weeks. Adam is excited as well. He just told me that soon he will be able to post on his facebook "That he loves his baby mama, I give her the highest honor". Cute but I don't really like the title "Baby Mama" but I know that I will always have the title Wife! So who cares, I know what he really means........ Update on Wednesday on how the sonogram went.......... This two days better go by very fast.

Pregnancy Announcements are on the way......

Once we found out that we were expecting, I knew that I want a clever way to reveal it to everyone. I went to my favorite site Etsy.com, to find some great ideas. I found the cutest announcements, that said "Our Family is Growing by two feet" with a picture of a baby in the middle. "Our first baby is due July 7,2011, Proud parents to be Adam &Temekia" on the bottom is our blog address. I was thinking to put the announcements in a picture frame and wrap them up. Presenting them to our mothers on Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving is very special for us, it will be our first one as husband and wife, and we are extremely grateful for our blessing of Baby Powers.  Here is a example of the announcement:

Photo Shoot Pictures

At the beginning of October Adam and I had a photo shoot to celebrate our six month Anniversary. It was just a gorgeous day in Old Town Alexandria. Ryann Colleen Photography took our pictures. Ryann is a great photographer. She makes you feel so comfortable and she even got Adam to smile. Soon she will taking our Maternity and New Born Photos. Enjoy!!!

Papa Bear is sick.....

Today Papa Bear is sick with the flu. Last night was a rough night. He woke up twice complaining about his throat and extremely sweaty. Hopefully he will start to feel better soon. I hope he does not get me sick too.

The Journey has begun......

As of today, we are one 4 weeks and one day pregnant. Flashback to Tuesday, November 2. I decided to go to CVS to pick up a pregnancy test. This should of been day four of my period but it was now where in sight. I knew I had to be pregnant because I am like clock work. When I got home Adam was on the couch sleep, I did my usual "Hi, Honey" and a kiss on the forehead. I went to the bathroom to take the first test. I waited 5 minutes instead of the quoted three minutes. When I went to check the test, I was shocked to see two distinct pink lines. I yelled to Adam to come here and I showed him and his reaction was whats going on. I explained to him. I took the second test and the same results. I told him and he was still half sleep and just said OK. The next day he called me at work and asked did I take a pregnancy tests last night and I said yes. He said so we are pregnant. I told him yea, he was so thrilled. I had already call Kaiser to make a Doctor's appointment. I was devastated to give up my love of tea!! I did not realize that Tea had caffeine in it. I learned that my estimated due date is July 7, 2011. The nurse seems to think that it will be a July 4th baby. We will see. First sonogram is November 24, the day before Turkey Day!!! And we can't wait.
